President’s Message

I am honored, proud and humbled to serve as the current President of the Sri Lanka Academy of Aesthetic and Cosmetic Dentistry (SLAACD). The Academy was founded in 2003 by a dedicated group of senior and junior dental surgeons who shared a common vision—to advance general dentistry in Sri Lanka into the specialized field of Aesthetic and Cosmetic Dentistry. Since its inception, SLAACD has remained committed to this mission by conducting annual scientific sessions with the participation of both local and international experts. These efforts have greatly contributed to enhancing knowledge, skills, and standards in our profession. Over the years, the Academy has also organized workshops, outreach programs, and actively participated in international events, further strengthening our ties with the global dental community. Today, SLAACD is proud to be affiliated with both Asian and European Aesthetic Dental Academies, which allows us to bring international perspectives and opportunities to our members.

As we step into our 23^rd year, we have planned two workshops and our Annual Scientific Sessions in October. These milestones reflect our continued dedication to the growth and development of Aesthetic and Cosmetic Dentistry in Sri Lanka. I am truly privileged to lead this esteemed Academy at such an exciting time. With the support of my colleagues and fellow members, I look forward to continuing our journey of progress, innovation, and collaboration for the betterment of our Academy and the dental profession as a whole.
